Fremont John and Acoustic Thunder, is making a return to Virgilio’s the martini bar behind La Trattoria Italian Restaurant, for 2 shows, only. It has been exactly 2 years since FJ last played this venue.  We will be there celebrating Margi Ashton’s birthday as the band plays all those old tunes.

He will be there with his Key West trio as he is joined by Bubba Lownotes on bass and Terry Wetmore on drums. You can expect to hear his unusual mix of original songs and carefully selected and re-arranged cover tunes. The original music will come from 4 indie releases entitled, “Acoustic Thunder”, “Timeline”, the instrumental CD, “Guitar Songs” and the more recent “Contrarian”. Covers are likely to include Blues, Classic Rock of the 60’s, 70,s, 80’s and beyond.

Fremont John is a guitarist with a very melodic and readily identifiable sound. Think of the sounds and styles of Craig Chaquico or an acoustic Carlos Santana. As a singer, Fremont John is often compared, in style and vocal quality, to John Fogerty, Rob Thomas and Roy Orbison and Chris Isaak. This solo act often sounds like a duo or even a trio as he loops multiple guitar tracks. He utilizes a vocal harmonizer to fill out the sound with 3-part vocal harmony with music arrangements that are all is own even if the song is not. Fremont John presents a very polished and poised act. It’s an act that evolved over years of playing a very heavy schedule of live gigs in Key West, FL and in the gulf coast towns of Florida and along the western shoreline of Michigan and many points in between.
